True Partnership
What is a true partnership? Relating is the easy part. Maintaining relatability across a lifetime — there’s the struggle.
We all have goals. We all have singular ambitions. But what if we told you that singular wants will never bring you joy? What if we told you that humans were born to work for something greater than ourselves? Because we are. As people, we’re all playing several roles, each one tied to someone else’s fate.
What if we told you the happiest you’ll ever be comes from signing up for a position in other people’s lives — as a friend, a romantic partner, a partner in purpose, a builder of a like-minded group? Would you believe us? Or would you work harder to prove it wrong?
Today, sit back and watch people. Think about what you could do to bring someone happiness — whether you know them or not. Let go of everyone who hurt you, and rediscover what you have to offer others. See if that feeling still motivates you. See if it still brings you joy. Just speak to the first person who interests you, and you’ll feel that spark — that’s relating. But the moment you start thinking only of yourself again, you’ll notice how quickly you close off and disconnect, because you’ve stopped trusting the fellowship.
The Value of A True Partnership
Disconnecting is how so many people lose their reliability. They lose focus of the goal — love and togetherness — so they grow disloyal and bitter, and their relationships fade. They stop valuing what’s in their nature, fueling their thoughts with anger, resentment, and loneliness. They start to self-preserve, believing it will increase their worth. But they’re missing the point: true self-preservation is finding the right Village. A True Partnership, asking one or more people to invest in an idea — the idea that life is better with many working in one accord than with several working in many directions.
So are you prepared for a true partnership? Or are you still under the impression that life will eventually love you back once you become the hurt that hurt you? Your answer will determine your lifestyle.
Think about it.
