Happy Mother’s Day

One of the clearest examples of AccountableLove is motherhood.

A child is always watching — editing their mother like a well-read English teacher. A child arrives with expectations: food, shelter, a role model. And when your words don’t match your actions, the disappointments pile up like litter on a New York street.

Yet some women walk the path of motherhood anyway. Inspired by their children’s expectations, they’re motivated not to fail. Women who had children — ready or not — and took pride in accepting the responsibility of mentoring and nurturing another whole life.

Those are our mothers.

Women who knew that after nine months, the pain would feel like having their teeth pulled one by one — and decided to move forward anyway. Toothless, and still adding value to the world.
