The People
As the LoveSnobs and founders of Love Is A Group Journey, what makes us qualified is not how long we have been friends. It is that we were willing to risk the relationship to hold each other accountable.
Who Are The LoveSnobs of Love Is A Group Journey?
Aziz and Jerri are the founders of Love Is A Group Journey – co-parents, longtime friends, and the two people who built AccountableLove out of their own lived experience, not a textbook.
Their journey moved from sweethearts to strangers, then from co-parents to real friends built on honesty and accountability. Over time, they became the LoveSnobs. After all, the village works when you are willing to build it with standards instead of just feelings.
Aziz
Born in Mount Sinai Hospital in Spanish Harlem – six months early, crooked legs, and a straightforward soul.
Although quiet, Aziz viewed the world optimistically. While most saw heartache, he saw a collection of hearts that could heal one another. Rather than speaking, he fought bullies silently, avoided crashes, and dreamt with a pen and pad.
His journey moved from love letters to heartbreak to heartbreaker to Love Is My Only Addiction. Eventually, watching was no longer enough – he started challenging Love as a standard.
As a result, Love Is A Group Journey became how he walked – partnering with Builders in sessions, podcasting, and blogging. Through it all, he taught AccountableLove in a quest for accountable and healthy relationships.
He is a LoveSnob. He believes Love is the highest honor.
Jerri
Born in Mount Sinai Hospital in Spanish Harlem, Jerri always fought for equal and just treatment.
She debated with her parents when the punishment didn’t fit the crime, called out teachers for unfairly accusing her peers, and challenged her friends constantly to be honest and open. However, like any equality fighter, the world repeatedly told her to swallow her tongue and go with the flow.
For years, she did.
Nevertheless, over time the accountability continued to be ignored and Love began to lose meaning. As a result, Jerri freed her tongue and searched for like minds and the same hearts. Consequently, AccountableLove became home. From that foundation, the mission became clear – build accountable and healthy relationships with the world through sessions, podcasts, and a blog.
She is a LoveSnob. She believes Love is the highest honor.
Why The LoveSnobs Built Love Is A Group Journey On Friendship
Aziz and Jerri are proof that people who were once in a romantic relationship can build a real, functional, healthy friendship – if they are willing to hold each other accountable through the transition.
Although the history was complicated, the hard parts were not skipped. Instead, they built a friendship on an honest accounting of everything that came before. Furthermore, they built Love Is A Group Journey on top of that friendship.
That is the model. Not romance first, friendship second. Friendship first – everything else built on top.
